McKenzie, Maurice, Courtney and Frank I am writing a review for the physical therapy room. The staff that is in there they are compassionate and they let you know that you may be down now, but it’s not gonna last forever they give you the strength and the encouragement for you to realize that they are here to help you and not just let you lay around. What they don’t do is treat you like a number I love the whole team down there also occupational therapy. I’m not currently working with them but when I was working with them, they were very compassionate also Alicia and Ray you do have a great team at this facility read less

The physical therapy is second to none. The best in the area.

Absolute terrible care provided. They say they have a 2 hour window for medication distribution, one hour before and one hour after scheduled time. Very seldom did they meet their own time parameters. My father had to get specific meds at a regimented time for his health condition. Even after adjusting his scheduled time for his meds because it “interfered” with shift change they still gave his meds outside of their own timeframe. I called my dad on the morning of his second full day there; he did not feel good; said he had not received his meds yet. It was almost 1.5 hours from his scheduled time (outside their own timeframe). After I called and left a message for the Director of Nursing he finally got his meds within 15 minutes. At that point, I arranged for my dad to have his meds at the bedside so he could control when he took his needed meds. But the staff continued to try to give him these meds even though arrangements were made for him to keep them at bedside. Another issue is my dad has several back issues where he could not sleep in their bed; it caused additional pain. We asked for a recliner chair every day that he was there, but they gave him a wheelchair to sit in. He sat and slept in that wheelchair almost 24/7 the entire time he was there. We were told numerous times by numerous staff they don’t normally have recliners and would have to look for one. But there was no follow-up. I suggested they rent one from a DME company; I was basically told no. I would talk to the day time staff; then the evening staff and they would know nothing about the recliner request. No communication whatsoever. His last day there (because we removed him from that horrific situation) we met with the NP, DON, case manager and director of therapy; the DOT said he knew of a recliner chair for my dad. It was too little too late. My dad was very willing/interested in walking using a walker with stand-by-assistance. The nurse supervisor on the weekend told me and my dad she would come back and walk with him a little later. She told me she would call me back once she found out if physical therapy was there (it was on a Sunday). She never called me back, and she never returned to walk with my dad. So if that is the supervisor’s behavior I don’t think you can expect much more from the staff members below her. There are even more concerns with this facility. But please reconsider if you are thinking about placing your loved one here.

Physical therapy team goes above and beyond job description to make patients comfortable and safe. Often picking up slack from aids without complaints and lack of care. Occupational therapy team is equally accommodating and caring and qualified to helping patients achieve their goals and feel safe and secure during their stay. Therapy teams are amazing here.

This rehab center maintains a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment. The housekeeping team does an excellent job keeping rooms and common areas spotless. Their hard work, attention to detail, and friendly attitude truly make a difference for patients and visitors.”

For all medical professionals who hate their job and the patients they are responsible for , Highland Hills Post Acute, Pittsburgh PA is the place for you. If you are irresponsible, inattentive and , go hours without checking on your patients, you are perfect for this horrible facility. It’s dirty and it smells. Our family members deserve better than Highland Hills Post Acute Rehab Facility

This place TERRIBLE!! My mom got sent here for rehab and was mistreated BADLY by staff. My mother suffers from multiple strokes and requires a lot of care, the staff refused to bathe her feed her and barely did any rehab! They wouldn’t change her brief unless I called and demanded someone to. She had a catheter so please explain to me how she isn’t being bathed for days to a week. I wouldn’t recommend ANYONE to go to this facility they do not care about the patients at all I called and report this to my moms social worker at the facility and she stated she would talk to her DON and I have yet to hear any kind of follow up from either one of them they simply do not care!

I am posting this for those of you whom are researching facilities for your own family members. Do NOT plan for your family member to stay here, because if they do, they will not be around for much longer. We had a family member stay here during his last months. None of the facilities were “nice”. He was to be taking Lasix for his heart condition – which he NEEDED to be taking, or else the increased water weight on his heart would cause it to stop. We had found multiple times the staff were not giving him the medication, and we only were able to realize due to swelling in his legs. We had tried to address the issue multiple times, and it was ignored – multiple times. There was another instance of bandages and dressings not being changed on time, nor were wounds properly cared for. Within our family, we had discussed and come to the conclusion this facility lead to a lesser life worth living. We moved him out within a few months time, and thankfully too. Being a patient at this facility means you are nothing but an afterthought. The facility has rebranded multiple times over the years, most likely due to litigations / discrepancies with previous LLC titles. This place has rebranded so many times, they do invest in permanent marketing, rather a quick banner thrown over their old, original sign. Your family member would be better off in a homeless shelter. If I could give 0 starts, they certainly would have earned it.

I cannot say enough good things about this nursing facility. My grandfather was treated with nothing but respect & dignity during his time there. My family is forever appreciative of this facility!!
